ARCH101-BASIC DESIGN-EXERCISE 9A
In this assignment we were supposed to create an pattern on 40×40  paper using guage colors.  In addition to this pattern, we also asked to  create another pattern on cardboard 20×20  by cutting holes on it. Then, we will  overlap these patterns by using one point light.

This is my  pattern on paper. My main element is hexagon. In my pattern , i used split complemantry  color scheme and used green, yellow and red-purple.It is rather simple one because as my first pattern is  more complicated ,  if i had used more complex pattern to overlap ,  it would have been harder to perceive light's attitude on different colors.

This is my  second pattern which is on cardboard. Its a rather simple pattern as it consists only circles but when  its circles overlaps with first pattern,  i can show how light and  shadow works on different colors.

And  finally,  these are the overlapping patterns. The circular areas took the characteristic of pattern of hexagons. the same rhytmic change in the hexagonal and triangular pattern is emerged in circles now.  As a result ,  new pattern is occured.
This image is extra  for clarify how the light  and shadows  behaves on colored plane. Its  the same of the previous image but  filtered white and black and its tones;thus we can understand how light created new boundaries on the colored plane .

ARCH101 BASIC DESIGN - EXERCISE 8 ( JURY SUBMISSION )
GROUP A
In my final project i used two different groups. My first group  , group A, is major part in the design . It has 3 voids . One of these voids is well defined and others are loosely defined ;however, when groups are connected to each other this loosely defined voids come together and become well defined. Mesh is only used in this group to  make  groups distinct enough to perceive. In my second group , Group B, i make a smaller  group  and in a particular part i used balsa . This part is particular because it  leads variety within the group B. In this part i used one rectangle and one isosceles right triangle. The size of this elements are continuously change in accordance with Fibonacci numbers . There are two sub groups in group B. One has the size related to number  3 and 5 and the other has the size related to number 5 and 8 . I  intended to use 2  neighbour numbers in Fibonacci serie  . However , after i presented my project i got the critic that using  Fibonnaci Serie in this way is not correct .
GROUP B
In the image below , there is a unit  formed by connecting group A and Group B. All group Bs are connected to design exactly the same way but within group B, as the alignment and degree is different in group As way of connecting and   there is a variation ,  i created a rhtyhm goes like B1-B2-B1-B2-B1......

ARCH101 BASIC DESIGN -EXERCISE 8 (PRE JURY 3 )

Before the  jury, in our last chance to get feedback , i changed my group again . I used two groups . Group a is the  major one in the the design and the group a is complementory of A. Group A has two voids and one loosely defined void  . This loosely defined void  becomes well defined when group A is connected to group B . All group Bs are connected to group  As in the same way  . Group B includes mesh while A  doesnt. This time i got more  precise void flowing  but   in my majro group  A , the void which i considered as a well defined void wasn't  such that.  I got critic to  modify it . I also decided to chnage the structure of  Group B because it  was  a little bit symmetric and its voids were not  well defined . )

                                    ARCH 101 BASIC DESIGN -EXERCISE 8  (PRE-JURY 2)

In thıs design  in order not to make the same mistake with the previous one , ı  tried to make a  one single group consists void in itself .  This group has a central  body  that  is like a road on which void flows .This bod is derived from 16x16 square by substractıng l shape rectangle and 2 squares ( other all  elements i used in this project are these substracted elements. )  I  made a variatıon in this group, first groups elements parallel to  central element are made of balsa , and the second group  in particular elements   i used mesh instead of cardboard . My design rule is  such that : First i  connected 2 balsa group and one mesh group to each other .Then, i got a unit. İ made e second unit identical to first one . Finally i connected them together by rotating one of them 90 degree.  The critics about this projects are like that :
1- firstly, the central body element i used is to spesific and edged   to use in a design . ( i later make my group with less edged  elements.
2- İın order to got good flowing opportunıties for voids i left many open voids in groups. This lead to loosely defined voids which are incomplete  and make the design incomplete also .)
However, this time my project was good in terms of three dimensity and compexity.

ARCH101 BASIC DESIGN - EXERCISE 8 ( PRE-JURY 1 )
In our 8th assignment (  jury assignment  ) we were asked to make 3D design in which there is a void flowing . We  were given two new kinds of elements; Balsa and mesh . Also, we were supposed to use at least 93 pieces  . My first  intention was to create two different groups  one has loosely defined voids and the other one has  better defined voids .The former group consısts  elements made up  balsa and  cardboard . The latter consists elements made up mesh and cardboard.I  seperated balsa and mesh in two different groups to make gorups more legidable. All  groups with balsa connected to other group from mesh .  After the critics i've got i learned that in my balsa group there is no void flowing and there are some  misused pieces .  Also, i later realized that  my project was linear. In my second  design i mainly  tried to undo these mistakes .

ARCH 101 - EXERCISE 7

In this assignment , in addition to  dominance and contrast , we were asked to make use of hierarchy in our designs . We had  no element size restriction again .  The first thing which appears on my mind was to show hiearchy with branches ; however, after discussions, i learnt that using this kind of hiearchy is  poor for design .
In my design  i had 2 groups which were similar to each other in terms of used elements and space within this groups . My first group ( the upper one on the  first photo) was  my  main starting point for hierarchy. I  used this groups 4 times but one of them was bigger than the others proportionally . It was hiearchically my centeral point. Other 3 groups were connected to this center in a repetition with  90 angle  turning in two directions . This was the rhythm ı wanted  to create . My second group was proportionally smaller one . My rhythm was like Aab-Aab-Aab . Second groups were   "b"s which are added to small first groups.

ARCH 101- EXERCISE 6

In our sixth assignment we were supposed to make a 3D design in which we make use of contrast and dominance. My  main intention was  creating size difference which  supports dominance. My first group , i chose as the dominant group , was proprtionally bigger one and consists 2  isosceles right triangles,1 square and 2 rectangles. ( its size can be seen from picture 1) . I used this group 3 times and all these three groups are connected to each other . By doing so , i tried to  form a  big mass with big space . Other 3 different groups which i formed were proportionally smaller ones and their charactheristic is that they consist less elements than main group. Also, the way   that they are connected to main mass  allowed me to create smaller spaces . I  wanted to show  rhtyhmic movement by growth of voids.
