In my final project  i decided  to organize my closed spaces as clusters  between semi open and open spaces . I used mainly large hard surface semi closed areas to solve student clubs problems. I thought my  closed spaces as some  prıvate areas  ın a publıc area mainly dominated by semi open an open spaces.I used tensıle structure as they are the most proper   structural system to provide large and high semi closed spaces.My tensıle structures take references from each other ın their curves. Also they take references from landscape itself and  landscape elements such as brook and trees . In the organızation of  semi closed spaces ı used  central square as a regulator and there is a main paved road to that square from the front of Çarşı opening.

TENSILE TRYINGS

                 As in my prelimnary jury  i had been criticized about my ternsile structures , I trıed a lot on tensile structure.

( As my tensiles were broken by my teachers , for  critiques I  couldnt took  the photo of  original forms )

In my first  attempt, i tried to connect all tensile structures to create a continuıty. However , this resulted in isolation of closed and open spaces. 

In my second attempt,  as i had a failure  in connecting   tensiles , i tried  distributing all closed spaces around  tensiles. Nonetheless. in this  tıme , it was critisized as tensiles has no reference to each other

 IN MY FINAL PROJECT I DECIDED TO MY ORGANIZATION  BY USING THESE FEEDBACK.

                              CONNECTING COMMUNITIES - FINAL PROJECT 

                          PRELIMNARY JURY -28/04/16

In  our fınal assignment  we were asked to create an area with closed , semi closed, and open spaces which will be used by  unıversity clubs and students . The actual area which we are assigned is the green area and  tennis court's area between KKM and Çarşı. We should think that area as an empty space except the natural components like brook and tree. In my prelimnary jury model i thought that using tensile structure with   closed spaces  can provide enough spaces to clubs . I  wanted to create two major paths leading people to  stage / amphitheatre . 

Problems of my Model:

1-using curvilinear lines in the topography without any reference. 

2- Using  arbıtrarily shaped closed spaces to fit them ınto topography. 

3- ısolating my closed spaces from semiclosed spaces

4- ısolating  semi closed also from each other

5-My  tensile structures were small in terms of dimensions and their language was not appropriate for  land .

          ARCH 102 - INTRODUCTION  TO        ARCHITECTURAL    DESIGN      -EXERCISE  5 ( JURY)
          In this assignment we were given   a topography  and asked for creating open spaces in  a particular transition route by changing contour lines.  The site i was given was the one in the below.

  

In our first model which is in the scale of 1/100  we saw the site and the slope and transition way in that area.

 Using cantilever thing like earth was wrong for  open space in this project.

After this model we first time worked wit 1/50 scale.

 After  seeing my mistakes on that are i deciden to use angular lines  instead of curvilinear lines as contour lines.

 And  in this model i learned that  some of my point connection in lines were wrong so for my jury i tried to  solce that problem.

       ARCH102 -INTRODUCTION TO ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN -EXERCISE 4

     In this assignment we were asked to create an exhibition space for an art piece  by using a structural system from which we learned previous exercise. Our  art piece to be exhibited can be a single sculpture,  a bideo art or  at least 6 paintings. In my design  i chose single sculpture   which is actually a  kinetic sculpture.

 To show my  sculpture, i wanted  to create a structure which provides proper light and wind circulation but also can be transferred among several  areas. So i decided to use space frame as a structural system.

   In this assignment we  were groups of four and we were asked to create a poster which display a particular  structural  system assigned to us and make a  model which  reflects that  system.
 Me and my group's   structural system was shell structure. From eggshell , wallnut and sea shell  we described that systems principles.

        ARCH 102 - INTRODUCTION TO ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN -EXERCISE 2
    In our second assignment we were asked to provide a space for a crawling and cruising baby where s/he can  play with an ever bouncing ball. This project was about function of a space. We  should consider baby's scale .

In my first model i misunderstood the angular  interest of baby  . We should use curved surfaces  for baby to  explore . So in my second  model i  give priority to  curved surface.

However ,  i also failed in my second try because the  steel cabels didnt allow me to create a strong vomplex curvature shape . So , in my final model i tried  embriodery to  create a tensiled  complex curvature for baby but it failed because of   the wrong material choice.

 

         ARCH102-     INTRODUCTION TO ARCHİTECTURAL DESIGN-Exercise 1
    In our first   exercise we were supposed to do a hanged mobile on which we can  show the design concepts thant we learn in the previous term.  We were group of two . Me and my partner ece decided to  use  proportions of   golden section and    contrast colors red and yellow with their tones.

   The  mistakes that we did in this first try was using a  symmetrical arrangement  and a heavy material as a hanged  material. So after  this model we went  to our  basic  materials first piece  which is very lightweight and   this time only used contrast  colors purple and yellow but yellow dominating over  visual weight and  purple dominating regarding the number.

ARCH101-BASIC DESIGN -FALL 2015-FINAL PROJECT

In our final project  we are again asked  to make two  basals, derive 6 or more elements from them and by using these elements to make a 3D design .

My  first basal and three  derived elements from it.

My  second basal and 8 derived elements from it.

 By using these elements i made two groups 

 . They connect to each other and create a cluster .

 I used  cluster x 6 times in my design. In terms of  material use ,  i used mesh for curved elements to increase legibility of my design. Brown and black cardboards are used to strengthen  visuality of void  flows ( as i used 2.5 length  grid,  using different materials in connecting  elements ease to see void  flow between  them.)

 In my organization  rule one side of my group is reluctant to make connection  and it is always on the edges , creating boundaries of my design. So  my units are always  connecting to each other by being rotated.

ARCH 101-BASIC DESIGN - FINAL PROJECT  4 TH MODEL
